To all Christian people to whom these presents shall come Greeting, Know ye that I Josiah Terrill of Milford in ye County of New Haven & Colony of Connecticut in New England for and in Consideration of five acres of Land ^ more or less made sure to me from my brother Samll Terril of Milford aforesd by Deed bearing Date with these presents upon ye Consideration folowing Viz That I am to take ye whole & sole Care of our Honoured Father & Mother Terrills that is to maintain them Honourably during ye time of yr Naturall Life which for ye better more sure performance of and better security to my Brother Samll Terrill aforesd that he ye sd Samll Terrill nor his heirs be nott att any charge or cost In ye Supporting or Maintaining our Father & Mother aforesd I do by these presents and for these Considerations aforesd Grant Bargain Sell unto my Brother Samuel Terrill aforesd & to his heirs and assigns for Ever two parcells of Land scituate within ye bounds of Milford aforesd one parcell Lying in ye West field by ye Sea att a place Commonly known by ye name of Northrups Rock Lott which percells of Land Contains three acres and a half be it more or Less Bounded by highways Eastward & Southward, and ye Land of Serjt Jon Camp Westward, and by ye Land of Jon Smith Derby & ye and ye [sic] Land of Samll Terrill Northward. the other parcell of Land Lying att ye Beaver Pond a place so Called which parcell parcell [sic] of Land Contains three acres more or Less or all my Land be it more or Less in sd place bounded East by and high way Commonly Called Hollbrooks Lane Northward by ye Common and by ye Land of George Clarke & Westward by ye Land of Josiah Tibbals Southward by ye Country Road with all ye Priviliges & appurtenances present & future ye sd Samll Terrill is to Have & to Hold to him his heirs Executors admsrs & assigns for Ever or to ye only proper use benefit & behooffe of ye sd Samuell Terrill his heirs executors Administrators or assigns for ever, and I ye sd Josiah Terrill for my Self & for my heirs excutors Admrs and assigns ye sd Bargained Premises: In ye Peacable & Quiet possession of ye sd Samll Terrils and his heirs & assigns against all manner of persons shall and will warrant & Defend for Ever by these presents: Nevertheless If I ye sd Josiah Terrill Do from ye Day of this Date hereof according to ye abovesd Consideration Provide for & Honourably Maintain our Father & Mother John & Abigail Terrills so as that my Brother Samll Terrill nor his heirs Executors and administrators be no wayes charged wt or forced by Law or others wayes through my Default to Maintain in whole or in part our father & mother aforesd, Then this obligation or Deed of Mortgage to be Void & of none effect otherwise to stand ^ & remain in full force and virtue for Ever: And for ye more full Confirmation hereof I have hereunto sett my hand & seal this thirty first Day of March Annoque Domini one thousand Seven Hundred & Twenty.
